The Academy of
Cosmetology specializes in two programs; Hairdressing
and the Esthetics Program. Each program varies in length
and start date so make sure you read the course
descriptions below to learn more about each. If you are

At the Academy
of Cosmetology we offer the highest standard of
education in the industry. You will receive top quality
training and acquire the necessary skills in a
professional, supportive, spacious and modern facility.
Our instructors will teach you basic and advanced
techniques and the latest trends during your program.
We will provide
you with high quality kits containing the implements,
equipment and products required for a successful career
in Hair Design and Esthetics.
At the Academy,
we have an extensive, established clientele to provide
our students with valuable work experience during their
program, which will enable you to feel more confident
and self-sufficient in your chosen career. Over 90% of
Academy graduates obtain employment in cosmetology
creative, exciting, career opportunities in our
industry!
Our regular
school hours are Monday, Tuesday and Friday 8:30 to 4:00
and Wednesday and Thursday 8:30 to 8:30. We are
conveniently located on Windmill Road in Dartmouth,
easily accessible from Halifax and Bedford.

The Cosmetology Industry
is one of the largest and most lucrative in the Western
world and continues to grow. Our hairdressing program at
The Academy provides basic as well as advanced training
in practical skills and related theory of hairstyling.
These skills are the foundation on which to build, and
remain current, in the ever changing trends in hair
fashion. Upon program completion students will have a
Diploma recognized by the Cosmetology Association of

Esthetics is a branch of Cosmetology, which is one of
the most lucrative industries in the Western world, and
it continues to grow. Our program provides the basic
skills and knowledge required to practice effectively in
the personal care profession, providing a competent
service in the practice of skin care and hair removal.
Upon program completion students will have a Diploma
recognized by the
Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia. Click
